Be a Psychoanalyst TV star! Record your own commentary! Recommend a clip! Send a video comment!

Use the comment box on this page to send suggestions:

1. Video must be at least “linkable” - preferably embeddable. A YouTube link that is perfect. (There’s code for both links and embedding).
2. Subject matter: wide open

Human behavior is the focus, but if it is otherwise interesting, then sure, of course I’ll take a look — .

Some suggestions:

  • “What were they thinking” segment;
  • “What was I thinking” segment;
  • “Best song about dopamine [or whatever neurotransmitters are involved in love/lust/heartbreak]” music video
  • Video of you
  • Video of your friend
  • Complaints about something having to do with human nature
  • Movie or TV show clip and explanation about the behavior

You get the drift.

If you send it, that’s your permission to me to post it — OK? If not, let me know, we can work something out.

3. Not interested: if there are obvious ownership/copyright/obscenity/meanandnastiness problems, not interested, please. Respect people and laws, please. Also please don’t over disclose personal or identifying information, medical conditions, etc. that you may regret later disclosing. Anonymous is fine. Can you let me have a list of all the topics you’ve covered so far (sorry to be lazy) and I’ll post about this great new site.

    Great! How about a Dr. Steve video? You can be the star.

    While I aim to have original programming (one day. . . ), so far Psychoanalyst TV is loosely programmed in groups:

    –TV and film — So far, “The Office,”" The Sopranos”, and independent video shorts showing human behavior. Hand selected by me with an eye toward behavior which shows which part of the brain is at work.

    –People with something to say — Fiction writers talk about finding passion or character; a fellow who worked at a psych hospital in the ’70’s talks about his experience as a mental health nurse with the patients; a dramatic re-enactment of someone with OCD. . . A single individual can put out a very powerful video — you don’t need a writer’s guild for that.

    –Neuromarketing and neuroeconomics: Adverts targeting the way some people think; “neuroeconomists” — who study the way people spend their money.

    –Academia — Explainers who can explain neuroscience concepts, like Dr. Robert Hare, talking about psychopaths; or animations of the brain.
